WHO AM I ?
Travel writer and photographer Etain O'Carroll has been working as a freelancer for over 17 years and has authored Lonely Planet guidebooks to Greenland & the Arctic, Iceland, Ireland, England, Wales, Morocco, Indonesia and Germany. Along with travel writing, I work with a variety of publishers and in-house marketing departments copywriting and editing text for publication and online use.
As a mother I've found my travel ambitions thwarted by school terms and basic finances, but rather than dimming the desire to travel, having children has just given me a whole new audience for all those wonderful things that are out there to discover. I just have to remind myself to rein in my ambitions now and again and realise that the real joy of travel is not about the destination but the journey itself.
